New Mexico Media Literacy Project is having a Screening!
 

Challenging the Debt Industry is New Mexico Media Literacy Project’s new DVD-ROM which includes a 38-minute documentary video about college students and credit cards, payday loans, title loans,  rent-to-own and the advertising by these industries.  Filmed in Albuquerque and Gallup, this documentary includes interviews with University of New Mexico students, fair lending advocates, payday loan employees and others on topics such as consumerism, debt and predatory lending.
In addition to the documentary, the Challenging the Debt Industry DVD-ROM includes curriculum materials and over 60 media examples.  The documentary, curriculum, DVD
menus and several media examples are also available in Spanish on the disc.
